A snapshot of December at unv.org Following the crisis in Gaza, there is a dedicated page on the website with specific information on the emergency response. In December, we had a campaign page for International Volunteer Day, its Global Press Release, and special coverage from Mogadishu, Somalia with remarks from the Executive Coordinator and stories of three UN Volunteers who gave inspirational talks to promote the spirit of volunteerism – read about Ereny, Hana and Urvashi. We also featured the story of Beryan, an international UN Volunteer from Indonesia serving in Somalia. Read how UN Volunteers in Iraq contribute to sustainable cities and food security reform. United Nations Volunteers and Switzerland signed an agreement for opportunities for youth in Tunisia. Three beautifully framed visual stories amplified volunteers: click on the Exposure from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Exposure from Venezuela, and the Exposure from Guinea Bissau. We further highlighted UN Volunteers and Online Volunteers in our editorial, please read stories of community development and emergency response. In addition, please click on content about supporting local farmers, humanitarian service, and health issues. |
