Snapshot of October Following the crisis in Gaza, there is a dedicated page on the website with specific information on the emergency response. Also in October, we highlight the July official mission of the Deputy Executive Coordinator to Madagascar and Comoros – Strengthening Collaboration and Embracing Volunteerism where UN Volunteers are amplified as the real heroes on the ground. Content from Asia centers on the volunteer journey of the head of UNDP’s Office in Odisha, India. Read the blog here. We marked World Mental Health Day on 10 October with short stories of UN Volunteers from Bangladesh, Columbia, and Thailand providing psychosocial support and mental health counseling. In addition, there is a story of a UN Volunteer in Türkiye who stresses the importance of good mental health and well-being for those serving in humanitarian and emergency response. Last but not least, there is a blog from HQ in Bonn on the United Volunteering Platform and its ongoing enhancements and developments. |
