2022: a year defined by results. In 2022, UN Volunteers (UNV) deployed over 12,000 volunteers in 166 countries and territories, a record number. That included everything from stepping up to the crisis response in Ukraine to responding to Ebola in Uganda and alleviating hunger in the wake of the floods in Pakistan. Hundreds of other UN Volunteers responded to crises in Haiti, Bangladesh and some 40 other countries. UN Volunteers are not only building a better world for tomorrow. | Launching Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in Portuguese Bem-vinda/o to our Lusophone volunteers worldwide! This 90 minutes UN systemwide mandatory course is now available in Portuguese on UNV eCampus. Prevention lies at the core of the UN strategy to combat sexual exploitation and abuse. And your help is critical for the UN to stamp out this problem for good and create a safe, dignified environment for all. Take this course to learn about your obligations, rights, and systems in place to effectively prevent, respond to and stop these from happening. Join the UNV workshops on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) Together with your peers, you'll acquire the skills to recognize and define sexual misconduct, differentiate between acceptable and unacceptable behavior, prioritize victims' needs with empathy, and understand your obligations and responsibilities when addressing incidents of sexual misconduct. | Be a human rights champion, join the UNV Anti-Racism Dialogues online in June, all in French! This workshop is crucial to recognize that racial discrimination is a global issue and collectively we need to take more actions to become more inclusive and supportive of our diverse communities worldwide. The objectives of this learning session are to: - Raise your awareness on racial and other forms of discrimination.
- Develop a shared understanding of the concepts of racism and discrimination.
- Equip You with various ideas to become more anti-racist.
- Create a safe space for all of us to talk about race.
